A Familiar Story About Marking the Passing of Time

Here we are again. But there’s something very different going on for us on this first day of school. This is the Modern Music Studio Grand Opening and it couldn’t come at a better time. We know there’s still anxiety, even some fear, but there is also optimism, even some jubilation. For our family it’s a banner year. My 8 year old Lincoln heads off to grade 3, while our middle child Huxley is going to school for the first time. His excitement can barely be contained. And for me, this will in a lot of ways be a landmark day; the first official day of operation for the Modern Music Studio. There are big ideas, and plans in the works, but right now we are laying the foundation for the music community we always dreamed of creating here in my hometown of Barrie. The teachers who have joined the team represent some of the best our are has to offer. We hope our focus on keeping lessons fun and engaging will resonate with students young and old, and keep them coming back for more. 

So, on this first day of school, I’m especially excited to welcome all of you to the first day of the rest of our lives as members of the Moder Music Studio community. We are really looking forward to discovering what the future holds, and just like Huxley, our excitement can barely be contained.
